We also visited the community of Drouin, Haiti, where the cholera outbreak started. We stopped at Spirit of Truth School and met the teachers who work every day without pay, and the sweet children who are no doubt tremendously affected by the cholera outbreak. Every classroom had at least one child wearing black among a sea of blue. When we asked what it signified, the teachers replied that they were in mourning because of family members they’ve lost to cholera.
